LJMU integrates work-based learning opportunities in a few different ways, depending on your chosen degree programme:  

  • Placement years: Many programmes at LJMU offer year-long placements, allowing students to spend a full year in industry, gaining real-world experience while earning academic credit. 
  • Work-based learning modules: Work-based learning modules allow students to work on industry projects and internships as part of their studies.

  • Graduate internships: The Graduate Internship Programme is designed to help recent graduates gain further work experience and boost their employability after completing their degree.

The International Foundation Year programme provides essential academic and language support for students starting their UK university studies. Successful completion of the programme allows you to enter the first year of your chosen undergraduate degree at LJMU. There is also an option for an Extended International Foundation Year, allowing for additional time to develop English language skills and prepare for university life. 

The International Year One is a two-semester programme delivered at the International Study Centre. Upon successful completion of the International Year One programme, achieving the required grades, you will join the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at Liverpool John Moores University.  

The Pre-Masters Programme is designed for students who have an undergraduate degree from their home country and want to study a masters abroad at LJMU. You will build on the knowledge gained in your undergraduate studies, whilst developing your practical English language abilities, as well as study and research skills. The successful completion of the programme, achieving the required grades, will allow you to progress to your chosen postgraduate degree at Liverpool John Moores University.
