International Year One

What is the International Year One?

The International Year One is a two-semester programme delivered at the International Study Centre. Upon successful completion of the International Year One, and achieving the required grades, you will join straight onto the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at Liverpool John Moores University.

Who is this programme for?

The International Year One is perfect if you need some extra support with academic, study and English language skills but want to progress to the second year of your undergraduate degree upon successful completion of the International Year One.

Combined visa

Save time and money, and experience a seamless transition to undergraduate success, by studying our International Year One course and the remainder of your degree with one visa.

Joining with a combined visa means that you will benefit from:

  • Just one visa required for the whole length of your study.
  • Alternatives to Academic IELTS for UKVI can be used to join the International Year One programme.
  • No need for an additional IELTS test before joining your undergraduate degree.
  • No visa requirement to return home between the courses.
  • Work up to 20 hours per week.
